FG Appoints Billy Agha as substantive Director of DPR
The Federal Government of Nigeria recently in a circular announced the appointment of Mr. Godwin Ukpiama Billy Agha as the substantive Director of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), with effect from the 28 th of October, 2009.
Prior to this, Mr. Billy Agha was the Acting Director of DPR, a position he assumed in January, 2009 after the then acting Director, Late Alhaji Aliyu Sabon-Birni retired from service.
Mr. Billy Agha commenced his career in the NNPC in December, 1978 as a geologist and has held various key technical positions in the DPR, before his current position. He was Asst Director, Exploration between 1998-2002, Deputy Director, Safety & Environment, from 2002-2005, before he was made Head, of the newly created Gas Division in 2005, after a restructuring exercise.
Mr. Billy Agha who is the current Chairman, Board of Governors of the West African Gas Pipeline Authority (WAGPA), is a fellow of NAPE, and member of various professional bodies, including the NMGS, and AAPG. He has attended various developmental courses, and seminars at reputable institutions abroad, including Oxford University , England and Southern Methodist University, Dallas . He was born on the 22 nd of Sept, 1953, and is married with children.

Member of the foremost team to determine the actual reserve in Nigeria oil and gas
Delivered the first ever Nigeria Gas Regulations
